in.gov

While working for Indiana Interactive, I redesigned and redeveloped the state website for Indiana. I also created a design system so that our 200+ state agency websites could make use of shared components with consistent styles, efficient and reusable code, and a more consistent user experience. We ended up getting 3rd place in the "Best of the Web & Digital Government Achievement Awards 2015" as awarded by the Center for Digital Government.

The website I designed and developed had a number of features at the time it was live. This screenshot represents a concept of a "profile" page for a user who had signed in. The profile page included:

  • favorite Indiana agencies setting
  • local weather, using a Yahoo weather API
  • favorite Indiana services setting
  • department of traffic tweets
  • Pertinent news releases
  • Subscription settings
  • travel advisories per county
  • State statistics pulled in using Tableau and D3.js
